COASTAL BIKE
FOUNDATION
Our
Programs
-
Foster-A-Bike
We sponsor high school students who would like to participate in interscholastic cycling leagues but can’t afford a multi-thousand dollar bike
-
Adopt-A-Bike
Our focus would be to take donated bikes and give kids the guidance and space to maintenance, repair, and customize their own bike
-
Level-14
Names after the highest level of adoption, this would be a space for over-the-top monster builds. If they can dream it, we can help them build it.
-
Many Hands
Using bike shops around the community, we will teach through workshops on bike maintenance and create small co-op workspaces
About Us
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) that uses community donated bikes to benefit those around us.
About Us
mission statement
To use bicycles to educate and promote mechanical skills and knowledge to our underprivileged youth and help to develop healthy and safe riding habits. To this end we will distribute donated bikes after a “hands on” maintenance and repair class that allows kids to build and customise their new bikes. We will also host group rides that teach and promote safety.
impact
This program doesn’t just hand out bikes to foster and adopted youth. This program teaches mechanical and engineering skills while providing a bike they customised and fixed themselves. The program provides these kids with something they can be proud of and maintain themselves and they will be much more likely to use. Promoting exercise and a healthy activity.
(As much as we would love to show the smiling faces of our foster care recipients, the security of their homes might be threatened so for cautionary reasons we choose only to show the end result of their hard work)
Make a donation
In order to help kids build super cool bikes, we could use some help from you! If you have an old quality bike just laying around (most supermarket brands can’t be rebuilt) or you just upgraded. Happen to be a mechanics guru? let us know! Or if you just love to help fund the project we would always appreciate your tax-write offs. Either way we hope you’d get in touch.
